A shocking video of the members of the Edo House of Assembly beating each other after the impeachment of the speaker, Justin Okonoboh, has emerged. In the video, the members of the House could be seen engaging in a free-for-all fight as they exchanged blows and kicks.
Recall that Naijaloaded earlier reported that Dr. Justin Okonoboh, was impeached on Monday, August 14, following an impeachment notice signed by 16, out of the 24-member assembly. The former principal officer of the House representing Akoko Edo I, Mr. Kabiru Adjoto, was elected as the new Speaker.
he fight erupted when Mr Sylvanus Eruaga, representing Etsako West II, asked Okonoboh to vacate the speaker seat.
Meanwhile, controversy has surrounded the acquirement of new and expensive cars by members of the national House of Representatives.
However, the federal lawmakers have said they have done nothing wrong by buying themselves exotic automobiles at a whopping cost of about N6.1bn.
The chairman of the House of Representatives committee on media and public affairs Abdulrazak Namdas, who justified the expenses, claimed that it was a global practice. Namdas said the issues of the cars are not new and had been around for nine months.
