It was a free for all yesterday, August 14 as members of the Edo state House of Assembly impeached their speaker, Justin Okonoboh, on grounds of high handedness, illegal award of contracts and abuse of office.
The impeachment process did not come easy as the lawmakers in support and against the former speaker exchanged some blows and kicked each other in the chambers.
Okonoboh was replaced with Mr. Kabiru Adjoto, while Mr. Victor Edoror emerged as his deputy.

The new leadership of the House said Okonoboh; his deputy, Mrs. Elizabeth Ativie; and the House Major Leader, Mr. Foly Ogedengbe, were suspended for three months.
