Turkey bans Wikipedia from operating in the country

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey has banned Wikipedia in the Islamic country for what the Turkish government described as a 'smear campaign against Turkey and Erdogan. The popular online encyclopedia contained comments, articles and statements linking the country to terrorist activities with some articles saying Turkey worked "in coordination and alignment" with terrorist groups
