A terrified tourist captured the moment a group of trekkers were attacked by a rampaging silverback gorilla. Taken in Rwanda, the film shows the giant ape swipe two tourists and their guide to the jungle floor before grabbing one of them.
Only the brave intervention of the guide to calm the gorilla prevented the situation descending into tragedy.
The victims – who had been watching the apes feed – were eventually able to slip away without serious injury.
All the while the rest of the group stood rooted to the spot, frozen as they watched the unfolding drama at the Volcano’s National Park.
