A linesman helping to control a football match in Argentina fell to the floor injured after a missile was thrown at him from the crowd. The match between Alvarado and Defensores de Belgrano de Villa Ramallo was at 1-1 when a player came over to take a corner.
But as assistant referee Leopoldo Gorosito stood nearby to officiate items were thrown from the crowd.
Two nearby policemen notice objects starting to rain down and raise their riot shields to protect but it was in vain as Mr Gorosito was hit.
It is believed he was hit with a coin on the right side of his head, but the item was not found.
The match, at the The Estadio Jose Maria Minella stadium in Mar del Plata in eastern Argentina, was suspended so the man could receive medical attention, as the missiles were still being thrown.
After a 15-minute delay, which came in the game's second half, the referee had little choice but to abandon the game.
