A gang of notorious, dare devil armed robbers met its waterloo in Ibadan when members of the gang invaded Alafara area of Ibadan on November 7 to rob. The suspects, who had been terrorizing the area and other parts of the state however met their waterloo when they were shot by the local vigilante in the area. Though the hoodlums escaped from the scene, two members of the criminal gang were subsequently arrested at their criminal hideouts by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Command when they were arranging a local doctor for the treatment of an injured member simply identified as Mofoof aka Murphy who later died as a result of the injuries sustained during the encounter. The two suspects, Ojeniyi Ibrahim and Taiwo Odetola confessed to the crime and disclosed that they were responsible for series of armed robbery activities at different parts of the state in the recent time. Exhibits recovered from them include a locally-made cut- to- size single barrel gun and five cartridges. Similarly, the Special Anti-robbery Squad of the Command foiled an armed robbery attack on the Methodist Cathedral Church, Agodi, Ibadan.
