However, the Osun State governor’s spokesman, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon, said information regarding the condition of the traditional ruler was not with the state government.
The spokesman said only the palace in Ile Ife could comment on Ooni’s state of health. The state Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, had earlier held a meeting with the traditional council after which the death of Ooni was denied.
When informed about the scheduled arrival of Ooni’s corpse at the weekend, the spokesman denied having any knowledge of such.
Okanlawon declined to comment on whether there were any burial preparations by the state government for the Ooni.
“Please, I prefer to be mute over Ooni’s issue, we do not have any information as a government, only the palace spokesman is privy to happenings as regards Ooni,” he said.
