You need not to wonder why, the reason is the norther Nigerians, irrespective of political affiliation have resolved to adopt Gen. Muhammadu Buhari as their Presidential candidates, a source told News Punch.
As if northern Nigeria is not part of the country where President Goodluck Jonathan is contesting to rule as president for the second term, one hardly can site the president’s posters in the region, according to a resident.
Investigation by News Punch further revealed that one other salient reason why most northern PDP and other none APC candidates are insetting Buhari’s image in their campaign poster is to garner electorates sympathy. A resident who preferred anonymity told News Punch that; “the situation in the region as we speak is that if you cannot be identified with Buhari, you are as good as failure in the elections slated to hold from February 14th 2015.”
The Chairman of the party, Alhaji Mustapha Inuwa, gave the warning on Monday in Katsina during a meeting with APC candidates for the February general elections.
Inuwa said the party had observed that some candidates of other political parties were printing their posters with that of Gen. Buhari to gain peoples’ support.
“Some opposition parties candidates have been mischievously printing their posters jointly with that of our presidential candidate.
“The party has informed the security agents on the issue and called on such candidates to desist from that illegal act or face the full wrath of the law,” he said
With this current situation, it is not erroneous to say Buhari’s image has suddenly become new winning formula in northern Nigeria.
