Earlier today supporters of the All Progressives Congress Party from Khana and Gokana LGAs of Rivers State were attacked by people suspected to be members of the PDP on their way to the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium igwuruta Ali venue of the APC Presidential campaign flag – off.
The hoodlums shot directly at the vehicles conveying the party faithfuls. Several persons were injured while some others remain unconscious as at time of filing this report.

The Rivers Police Command has confirmed that unidentified gunmen attacked All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters travelling to Port Harcourt to attend the party’s presidential campaign.
The presidential campaign flag off was held on Tuesday in Port Harcourt.
DSP Muhammad Ahmad, the command’s spokesman,said in Port Harcourt that the unknown gunmen “opened fire on the APC supporters’’.
Ahmad said that the supporters were travelling in group from Buguma in Asari-Turu Local Government Area of the state for the rally.
According to Ahmad, the initial report had shown that there were no casualties.
Ahmad said the command had commenced investigation into the incident, assuring that it would get to its root and bring the suspects to justice
APC CASUALTIES MOVED TO KELSEY HARRISON HOSPITAL.
Members of the All Progressives Congress APC from khana that were shot earlier this morning by gunmen along Saakpenwa Bori road on their way to GMB campaign kick off have been moved to the Kelsey Harrison specialist hospital in Port Harcourt for further medical examination due to the critical condition of some of them.
A statement issued by the LGA party chairman, Chief Eric Nwibani says the party is doing everything possible to preserve the lives of these innocent sons and daugthers of Khana whose only crime was making attempt to join fellow citizens of this country to seek for CHANGE. The chairman urged party faithfuls to remain calm and not take the laws into their hands as perpetrators of this dastardly act will be unravelled by security agencies and brought to book.
