A 22-year-old boy, Nicholas Okoronkwo hanged himself inside his room in his parents’ house in Umuosinta, Onowo Local Government Area of Imo State.
His mother, Mrs. Bridget Okoronkwo discovered the body of Nicholas at about 2.pm after she returned from the market.
The deceased was into banister in Owerri, the Imo State capital, and recently completed a four-bedroom apartment in Umuosinta.
According to the bereaved father, Mr. Edmond Okoronkwo: ” At about 10am on the ill-fated day, Nicholas went out with his motorcycle and came back with a blue chain and a padlock. I naturally thought that he wanted to use the chain to secure his motorcycle.
“It was only at this point that my son’s inexplicable isolation in his private room started evoking serious concern in the family.
“Not long after, I heard a shrill but distressful cry from my wife and I quickly rushed to the scene and behold, my son had hanged himself with the chain he bought.”
