Finally Exposed: Why Ogun Youths Are Strongly Against Amosu's Reelection

.Ogun State Governor Senator Ibikunle Amosun and his deputy, Segun Adesegun
Written By Adewale Adekunle (Unedited)
Amosun promised the OGUN state tertiary students 50% reduction in their alleged exorbitant school fees. The students mobilised and massively voted for The ACN and almost all their candidates presented for different positions as the agents of change they claimed to be. Three years later, same students are now dagger down with the same man they supported without conditions in 2011.
Today, Ogun State tertiary students pays the highest tuitions in the entire country. The lowest tertiary tuition in Ogun is from N170,000 to N350,000. Their Bursary have not been paid in the last three years despite the government charging the students between N1,000 to N5,000 as bursary fees. Ogun State students now pay N10,000 as compulsory tax clearance fee. And the acceptance fee has been increased from N10,000 in 2010 to about N45,000 now.
Some SUG in the schools have been infiltrated and destabilised, polarized by the government and it’s agents. All in an effort to weaken them from challenging the government’s failures. To date, no
single infrastructure has been added to any school in Ogun State since Amosun came to power. To add salt to injury, the students are now been forced to repeat a class whenever they failed to pay the cut throat school fees.
Amosun lied to the students. And he still keep lying to them by publicly declaring he gives N600 million monthly subventions to all the tertiary institutions in the state. It is now left for we the students to say if we still want Amosun to continue as our governor in 2015 or not..
