In less than a month we’ll be getting our first official look at the new Huawei Mate 10. We’ve already laid our eyes on some potential renders of the regular Mate 10, but Huawei usually releases several different versions of the flagship. We’ve seen leaked details of the Lite version and now we’re getting a taste of the Huawei Mate 10 Porsche Design too.
The Porsche in the “Porsche Design” naming scheme should give you some idea at who this phone is designed for. Its predecessor was priced at €1395 when it launched which works out to about $1600 in the US. We expect prices in that range, or higher, again. Internally, the phone will feature a Kirin 970 processor, 6 or 8 GB of RAM, 128 or 256 GB of storage, and a 4500 mAh battery.
An almost bezel-less design houses a 5.9-inch AMOLED display. That display will come with Quad-HD resolution (2560 x 1440p) and if these renders are correct, curved edges. The rear of the device is where you’ll find the dual-camera setup with 19 and 23 MP shooters. The Leica-branded cameras will be paired with a 13 MP front-facing camera.
It’s yet to be seen which version of Android the Mate 10 Porsche Design ships with but anything less than Android 8.0 Oreo would be a disappointment. Huawei uses a pretty heavy skin called EMUI which stands for Emotion UI. We expect to see the latest version of it, version 6.0, in tow.
The Mate 10 event kicks off on October 16 in Germany. Until then, we’ll keep you up to date on all the latest news and rumors.
