OxygenOS Open Beta 23/14 arrives for OnePlus 3/3T with display recalibration, faster gallery loading and more

OnePlus has introduced OxygenOS Open Beta 23 and 14 for the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. The latest software, the download for which was posted today on the OnePlus forums earlier today, introduces a number of new and improved features.

Most of these relate to the system UI, where OnePlus has done things like: added the battery level indicator on the lift-up display, made the contacts page easier to navigate by putting an alphabetical bar on the right side, and changed the default screen calibration so that it tends more towards the sRGB standard (i.e. it should be more accurate).

In the Gallery, OnePlus has also managed to increase the speed at which images load, and the team has introduced a camera option to allow you to automatically put the “Shot on OnePlus” watermark on images, along with your name.

A couple of other smaller details include increased accuracy in the Weather app — and a better experience when searching for cities — as well as a new “Alarm calendar” feature. This is an alternative alarm schedule that can be used for “irregular” events, accessed via the hamburger (three dots) menu button to the right of “repeat” after you’ve set the alarm time.

Additionally, Open Beta 23 and 14 arrive with August’s Android security patches.

Visit the OnePlus Forums to check out the full list of improvements and download the ROM. Note that those on the beta upgrade channel will stop receiving regular OTA updates from the stable channel.
