The Super Eagles of Nigeria trounced AFCON champions, Cameroon 4-0 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.
The result put the home side in the driving seat for Russia 2018 FIFA world cup qualification as they play the return leg on Monday, September 4.

First half goals from Odion Ighalo (Changchun Yatai F.C.) and skipper John Obi Mikel (Tianjin TEDA) who both ply their trades in China have the Eagles a 2 nil lead in the first half before Victor Moses (Chelsea, England) and Kelechi Iheanacho (Leicester City, England) got the third and fourth respectively.
