Some Delegates of the ongoing Second Conference of National Council on Niger Delta were on Tuesday involved in fatal accident along Ode-Aye/ Okitipupa local area of Ondo State.
The accident, which happened very close to Agric Industry in the area involved three vehicles who were on their way to Igbokoda ,Ilaje Local Government Area of the state for the interactive session with the Vice President,Prof Yemi Osinbajo,who had since arrived the state for the event.
The Politico gathered that one person was feared dead and the injured have been rushed to the State Specialist Hospital in Okitipupa.
A source who spoke with The Politico ,said the accident occurred as a result of the over speeding from the drivers in the vehicle.
” Yes ,the accident was this morning along Ode-Aye before Okitipupa and one person has been confirmed dead and others in dangerous situations. The speed of those people was just too much and may be it was because of the visit of Vice President. Very Sad,” the source said.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Femi Joseph,while confirming the accident , said one life was lost in the accident.
Joseph further noted that the fatal accident involved three vehicles and said the injured had been taken to the hospital for proper treatment.
