Kenya’s Electoral Commission Announces Date For Fresh Presidential Poll

Kenya’s electoral commission has announced that fresh presidential elections would be held on October 17.

Recall the country’s supreme court on Friday, September 1, nullified the election of incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta who won the August 8 poll ahead of opposition leader, Ralia Odinga.

The court said the electoral board committed “irregularities and illegalities” during last month’s vote, harming the integrity of the election.
