A Memorandum of Understanding,( Public Private Partnership), between Ondo State Government and a Nigeria - German Energy Company, Dantata Solar Limited, to build a Solar Energy
Park that can supply the energy needs of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko has been signed.
The Vice Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba -Akoko, the Registrar Mr. M. S. Ayeerun, Prof. Victor Olumekun, Director for Research and Mr. Sola Aladesuru, Admin. Assistant were in the University Team to the Governor's, where the MoU was signed.
Mr. Oyeneye Babajide the Project Manager of the energy company signed for Dantata Solar Limited while Prof. Igbekele ,Vice Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko, signed on behalf of the State Government.
Mr Oyeneye Baba explained that the target is to build a 5 Megawatts Solar energy source that can effectively power the University community on 80% debt/20% equity.
Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu remarked that the project would be replicated in the riverside communities in the state to give light to the people who are not yet connected to the National Grid.
The Consular General of German EmbasEmbassy, Mr Ingo Herbert and Dr. Jeremy Gaines led the German Team.
