1.) Buhari To Travel To US
President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to address the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly in the United States on Tuesday, September 19, 2017.
Buhari is expected to speak after the leaders of Brazil, the United States, Guinea, Switzerland, Jordan and Slovakia.
2.) Senate Won’t Disclose Salaries
The Chairman, Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Senator Aliyu Abdullahi has insisted that the senate would not disclose salaries of its members.
When a Channels TV presenter asked him how much he earned, Abdullahi angrily said it was rude of the presenter to ask him how much each senator earned.
Abdulahi said, “You don’t expect me to come out on national television to say this is what I earn. It is not done. I cannot ask you as a journalist how much you earn. It is not done.
“If anybody is interested in how much we are getting paid, you know where to get the information. The documents are available. If Nigerians won’t believe that, is it what I will say that they will believe?”

3.) Nigeria To Suffer Scarcity Of Cow Meat
The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Audu Ogbeh, has said that the country might, in the near future, suffer scarcity of cow meat.
According to him, this could be attributed to the quantum of cows consumed daily without commensurate calving.
He disclosed that Nigeria faces an economic danger if the number of cows slaughtered and consumed as meat on a daily basis is considered.
4.) Atiku Tells Buhari To Fulfill His Promise On Security
A former Nigerian vice president, Atiku Abubakar has urged the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to fulfil its promise to Nigerians to make them feel safe again.
Atiku was reacting to an online publication suggesting that one of the freed kidnapped Chibok schoolgirls, attempted suicide to protest being compelled to attend one of his schools.
5.) Army Denies Invading Nnamdi Kanu’s Residence
The Nigerian Army has said that its personnel fired warning shots to disperse hoodlums who lobbed stones and broken bottles against them during a procession in Umuahia, the Abia State capital.
The Army was countering the account of Mr. Kanu, which had said soldiers stormed his residence in the Abia State capital, killing and injuring occupants in a bid to attack the separatist activist.
6.) China Plans To Ban Petrol, Diesel Vehicles
China, world’s biggest car market, plans to ban the production and sale of diesel and petrol vehicles, further threatening the future profitability of oil — Nigeria’s major revenue source.
The development is coming two months after the UK, like Germany, France, India, Norway and Netherlands, revealed plans to ban fuel-run cars, as part of efforts to reduce air pollution.

7.) Wike Says Nigeria Remains Stagnant Under Buhari
Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has described Nigeria as a nation that has been dwarfed by underdevelopment.
Wike said although, President Muhammadu Buhari was among the few Nigerians he respects, but the fact remained that the current administration had failed Nigerians through lack of meaningful projects delivery.
