Ogun homeownership charter

The PUNCH recently featured complaints by subscribers who had paid their assessments but had yet to be issued their CoOs almost two years thereafter.

However, on Tuesday, July 11, in a full page The PUNCH advertorial , the government lamented that some applicants refused to make themselves available for site inspection on scheduled dates thus causing delays in the processing.

The government is lauded for bringing the observation to the defaulting applicants.

Those that have paid their assessments have definitely passed this stage and are at a loss why their CoOs are being delayed. Issuance of the CoO after payment and due notification should not go beyond three months.

The CoO delay is a let-down to applicants and discouraging to intending ones. The government should release them without further delay, to restore people’s confidence.
