Roman Dusk, 65, was reportedly outraged because he believed his friend had decided to leave her home to someone other than him.
He allegedly threw the victim to the ground and stomped on her chest, before setting fire to a plant in the house, causing part of a wall to catch fire. He threatened to kill her, saying,
"You are 94 years old, and people shouldn't live that long. I'm here to kill you," according to a police report, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
Dusk extinguished the fire and vacated the premises without helping the victim, the Orlando Sentinel reported. The elderly victim said it took her hours to seek help, according to the report.
She was admitted to a hospital with severe bruising, a head injury, and possible broken bones, according to reports.
The woman told deputies she had known Dusk since he was nine, and that she had "raised him like a son," She said Dusk moved in with her last year because he "had nowhere else to go."

Dusk faces charges of attempted murder, arson and aggravated battery. He's being held in the Seminole County Jail without bond.
