The Federal Government on Tuesday announced that it had commenced moves aimed at putting together a national digital map that would help curb insecurity across the country.
It also stated that the map would further help in improving the country’s economy as the recently inaugurated Economic Recovery and Growth Plan was largely dependent on the map.
The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, who disclosed this in Abuja while inaugurating the newly appointed president and nine other members of the Surveyors Council of Nigeria, also inaugurated the country’s National Building Energy Efficiency Code.
He told the newly appointed SCN members that “in these days of digital mapping and global security challenges, your responsibilities are not made easy at all. But some people have done it before you, so there is an opportunity to leapfrog.”
