The Minister of State for Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, has approved the appointment, promotion and redeployment of top managers of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency.
The agency said that the circular issued by the Ministry of Transportation, confirmed Mr. Farouk Umar as the substantive Director of Safety Electronics and Engineering Service; and Mr. Gabriel Akpen as Director of Operations from his position as the General Manager, Search and Rescue/Civil Military Co ordination.
The ministry also merged the Directorates of Human Resources and Directorate of Administration and made the former General Manager, Customer Services/Servicom, Maira Bashir its director.
NAMA said in a statement that a former staff in the finance and accounts department of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Mr. Umoh Aniefiok, was redeployed to NAMA as the director of finance and accounts while Khalid Emele would head the Public Affairs Department of the agency as general manager.
Three new deputy general managers were also appointed to anchor some strategic units in the agency.
The Managing Director of NAMA, Capt. Fola Akinkuotu, was quoted to have said that the postings were to reposition and streamline NAMA towards enhanced productivity and to ensure that all projects and programmes of the agency were properly executed.
