McCarver's girlfriend, WWE superstar Dana Brooke, told TMZ the 26-year-old lifter was found unconscious Monday night in his home by a friend. McCarver was found shortly after he spoke with Brooke on the phone.
Brooke told TMZ she believes choking on food was the cause of death and that there were no signs of foul play nor did it look like he tried to take his own life.
She said the last thing he said to her was "I love you. Goodbye."
Earlier this year, the bodybuilder had a health scare when he collapsed on stage , but had later shared videos of himself where he appeared to be recovered.
In 2016, he finished in eighth place in the Mr. Olympia competition.
