1.) APC Chief, Balarabe Musa Attacks Jonathan Over Economic Legacy
The National Vice-Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (South-East), Chief Emma Eneukwu, and a former governor of the old Kaduna State, Alhaji Balarabe Musa, have berated former President Goodluck Jonathan over his claim that his government had good economic programmes.
Jonathan had, at the Non-Elective National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party held in Abuja on Saturday, said his government had a sound economic team.
2.) Obasanjo Challenges Youths To Wrestle Power From Old Politicians
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has advised the youth to democratically wrest leadership from the old guards since they are unwilling to quit the stage.
To Obasanjo, leadership positions are never given on a platter of gold. He urged the youth to work for them.
The ex – President, who spoke on Saturday in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, at the Youth Governance Dialogue organised to mark this year’s International Youth Day, added that those seeking leadership positions must also carve a niche for themselves through hard work.
3.) Mimiko Denies Sponsoring Anti-Buhari Protest
Former Ondo State governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, has denied involvement with any protest against President Muhammadu Buhari.
Mimiko, in a statement signed by Eni Akinsola, his media advisor, said he has no hand in any protest as alleged by a group which he said is out to either create mischief or blackmail him.

4.) Ozubulu Church Re-Opens After Gunmen Attack
Normal church services resumed at St. Philips Catholic Church, Ozubulu, Anambra, a week after gunmen killed worshipers during early morning service.
The church was sealed after Aug. 6 massacre which claimed 11 people and 18 others sustaining various degrees of injury.
5.) PDP Calls Osinbajo A Figurehead
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that acting President Yemi Osinbajo is not in charge of the country due to the fact that he had refused to assign portfolios to the two ministers that were sworn in more than two weeks ago.
It said actions taken by Osinbajo had shown that power was not handed over to him contrary to the claim by the Presidency that ailing President Muhammadu Buhari ceded power to him (Osinbajo) before leaving Nigeria for London on medical trip more than 90 days ago.
6.) Oni Denies Meeting Fayose, Makarfi
Former Ekiti State governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) Deputy National Chairman (South), Chief Olusegun Oni, has decried what he called “attacks from within” by those allegedly uncomfortable with his ambition in next year’s governorship race.
He accused some people of attempting to pull him down.
Oni denied holding “secret” meetings with Governor Ayo Fayose at a hotel in Lagos on the possibility of defecting to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to realise his ambition, as alleged on various posts in the social media.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has commenced an indefinite strike across the nation.
According to ASUU President, Biodun Ogunyemi, the lecturers took the decision to declare the strike after deliberations at its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held at the University of Abuja during the weekend.
