3 Reason Why You Should Watch Davido’s Latest Music Video ‘Pere’

1. Davido has kept us waiting for too long!

It’s been more than five months since it became known that Davido had a song with American musicians Young Thug and Rae Sremmurd. Many were visibly excited to hear how Davido was able to blend his Naija sound with that of the Americans but every time OBO promised to release the song, he kept postponing it. Some say the reason for this was to allow his fans enjoy his hit songs If and Fall but whatever his reasons are, we are sure glad we can finally hear and watch a video for the song.

2. Young Thug and Rae Sremmurd

The names mentioned above are not exactly the American musicians many Nigerians expected OBO to collaborate with. But since he signed a record deal with Sony Music he had a plethora of international musicians he could work with. His decision to work with Young Thug and Rae Sremmurd is quite understandable seeing that the rappers are very hot on the American music scene at the moment.

3. Davido needs a win internationally

Having two songs currently topping the Nigerian music charts in every possible sense means Davido is at the top of the Nigerian music chain. But for him to be considered a ‘crossover’ star, baba Imade needed to release a song that will gain traction in America. Yes, If may have been remixed by veteran American singer R. Kelly but it wasn’t enough. And with Pere, he may have just found that win.
