Manchester United are reportedly closing in on their first summer transfer signing after agreeing a £45.3million move for Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic.
The Croatian winger has been linked with a move to the Old Trafford since February after it emerged that United boss Jose Mourinho travelled to Zagreb to discuss a potential deal with the player’s representative even though he denied the reports afterward.
However, it is understood that Mourinho is a keen admirer of Perisic’s abilities and has spoken with the player about joining him at the Old Trafford, with suggestions that the winger is open to the idea of moving to United.
Reports in La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Manchester United have agreed a £45.3million transfer fee for the 27-year-old, leaving the personal terms to be discussed between the player and United.
The Red Devils are buoyed by the fact that Inter Milan are in the danger of getting restricted by Financial Fair Play regulations if they do not sell one of their top players to balance their books before the end of June.
Perisic has been an impressive figure at the San Siro, netting 11 goals and eight assists for Inter Milan last season.
