A 38-year-old farmer, Aliyu Adamu, has been arraigned before a Sokoto Magistrates Court for allegedly stabbing one Nura Isah to death.
He was arraigned on a two-count charge of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide punishable under section 97 and 224 of the penal code law.
The Prosecuting Police, Insp. Na’allah Jibo said Aliyu Adamu of Kopa area, Sokoto, criminally conspired with two others at large, armed themselves with knives and attacked Nura Isiah.
Jibo said Aliyu Adamu went to Nura’s shop at old market where he stabbed the victim on his stomach and was rushed to the Specialist Hospital in Sokoto, where he was confirmed dead.
The accused pleaded guilty.
The Magistrate, Abubakar Adamu said the court lacked jurisdiction and that the case would be transferred to state High Court.
The accused was remanded in police custody for one month.
