Actress, Anita Joseph, has suggested that it was not a big deal when a lady gets pregnant out of wedlock. According to her, it was a moribund African mentality thing that a lady should get married before having a child.
This comes after she shared on her gram, a photo of a scan that suggested that she was pregnant with a set of twins. The photo was met with mixed reactions as with a good number of her fans congratulating her while many others took it upon themselves to tell the actress that it wasn’t a thing of pride to get pregnant while unmarried.
A gram user, @Patchyn12 wrote; “Happy for you but hope you are married o. It is not African culture for women to be pregnant without being married first.”
In response, Anita stressed that marriage has not helped anybody. “Are you alright? Must I be married to be pregnant? Oh please, who needs marriage help? African nonsense! @patchyn12, wish me well that is all, ndi africans ana akoyeri”, she said.
The gram user didn’t relent, however, as she insisted that people like Anita Joseph were role models for prostitutes, armed robbers and the likes. “You don’t have to be married to be pregnant, I know that; but this new norm is destroying our youth and this is part of the reason our society is in deep moral decay. Bastards that are born every day without good upbringing. Most are the future armed robbers, killers, prostitutes and never do wells of the future. You people especially in Nollywood should show better example to the new generation,” @Patchyn12 submitted.
