Airline Boss Gets Pie Shoved In His Face By Angry Pensioner At Business Event. Photos

A Qantas chief executive had a pie shoved in his face by an elderly man at a business breakfast. CEO Alan Joyce branded the incident as 'nothing unusual' when the pensioner walked up to him and hit him with what appears to be a lemon meringue pie.

Afterwards, he claimed he was not altogether surprised by the sudden attack considering his job for the airline.

"When you've been the CEO of an airline for nine years, there's a lot of things that have happened over that period of time, this is different, but it's not unusual" he said. "It is an unusual event, but things like this have happened in the past."

The incident took place at the Hyatt Regency in Perth, Australia.

And Joyce said he had ‘absolutely no idea’ what flavour the pie was because he's 'not a big pie eater.'

"I didn't have a chance to test it, it was mostly on my glasses," he joked. "I think my issue is I need a good dry cleaner before I leave Perth, so if you have one, please recommend it to me."
