Barcelona and Spain defender Gerard Pique was snubbed by a young child at an awards ceremony. The former Manchester United player was joined by ex-Barca star Edmilson at the fourth international FCBEscola tournament this week.

As the pair handed out a trophy to one of the teams, Pique was left hanging as he offered one of the youngsters a handshake only to be ignored.

Pique spoke to the children at length about his journey at Barcelona, detailing his rise from a youth-team player to a fully-fledged Nou Camp legend.

"When I was 10 years old, I started my dream here in Barcelona and 20 years later the club is still continuing to form both players and people with values," Pique told spectators. "I feel proud to be part of this club and I believe that we are the best in using our academy."
