Woman's Chunk Of Flesh Gets Ripped From Her Leg In Freak Escalator Accident

This is the moment a shopping trip turned into a nightmare for one woman after injuring her leg on an escalator. The shopper's leg was ripped open after a fault on the steps. When the escalator, in Selangor, Malaysia, malfunctioned, a part tore through the woman's flesh.

According to Facebook comments, the woman's leg was sliced open by a metal plate that suddenly protruded the metalwork.

The shocking footage shows the woman, believed to be 20, sitting on the ground, weeping into a friend's shoulder as blood poured from her leg.

Bits of flesh can be seen hanging from her calf.

A crowd gathers around the woman, before medical professionals arrive and place her on a stretcher.

The woman is said to be recovering well in hospital .
