Vice president Yemi Osinbajo today flagged off the construction work for the $1.5bn standard gauge rail line from Lagos to Ibadan. The proposed 156.65 km Lagos-Ibadan rail is a double line, which is the first phase of a new Lagos-Kano standard gauge line.
The Federal government has already released N72bn counterpart funding for the rail project. The project is expected to be completed within the next 18 months. More photos below:
