The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) has mistakenly reported that ex-Head of State, Yakubu Gowon, has been confirmed dead.
This death announcement, as confirmed by NAIJ.com, was supposed to be for Martha Kande Audu, the first northern female voice on Radio/TV Kaduna and sister to General Gowon. She was said to have died at 79.
NTA had some reports scrolling during a live show on television where the demise of the former Nigerian leader was announced.
