Senator Ben Murray Bruce, representing Bayelsa East in the National Assembly, has urged the federal government to increase the minimum wage.
According to him the higher the minimum wage the lower the rate of corruption would be in the country.
He wrote on his Twitter handle: “I urge FG to increase minimum wage out of economic necessity because the higher minimum wage goes, the lower the rate of corruption goes.”
Recall that about a month a ago the president, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Ayuba Wabba, said the Federal Government and the organised Labour movement in the country have agreed to review the National Minimum Wage.
Wabba said the agreement was reached during the sitting of the Technical Committee on Palliative.
