Acclaimed Nigerian writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, over the weekend found herself at the centre of a controversy over gender identity after the comments she made about transgender women during an interview with the U.K Channels 4 while promoting her new book, Dear Ijeawele. "When people talk about, 'Are trans women women?' my feeling is trans women are trans women" the author said.
