8 people die in a stampede while struggling to get food in a church programme

Eight people of the 35,000 people who attended a church programme in Zambia where free food was shared died in a stampede. The incident which happened at the Olympic Youth Development Centre, in Zambia's capital, Lusaka, left 28 others seriously injured while five died at the spot. 

According to the Police, injured participants of the church programme who came for
prayers and food have been rushed to the hospital.
