Starboy Wizkid has lauded the Lagos State Police Command for arresting a 19-year-old fraudster who impersonated him and duped foreign prospective clients of large sums of money.

reported it here few weeks ago that a trio led by 19-year-old Ifeoma Nelly, a 200-level Industrial Chemistry student of Delta State university (DELSU) were arrested at a Lagos Hotel and were remanded at the Lagos State Police Command in Ikeja, for impersonating music star, Wizkid on social media and defrauding unsuspecting public of over $65,000, an equivalent of about N12.9million.
Starboy boss, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has lauded the Lagos State Police Command for arresting the 19-year-old fraudster who impersonated him and duped prospective clients abroad of large sums of foreigh currencies, adding that he was elated that his image before his international clients had been redeemed.
Her arrest reportedly came after the singer complained to the police commissioner that someone had been impersonating him and collecting money for shows as the police swung into action and the 19-year-old was apprehended.

Commending the police, the ‘Ojuelegba’ crooner on his social media handles stated, “I am very thankful to the Nigeria police for what they did for me. The case has been going on for a while now, I thank God we have been able to arrest one of the suspects.
“We would pursue this case to the court and ensure we get justice.
“The actions of these fraudsters have affected my business worldwide. I still have two cases pending in New York, United States now. There was a particular case of a $45,000 that was collected from a promoter in USA by these fraudsters using my name. There is another case of $25,000.
“I am happy my name is being cleared and I want justice. The situation has affected me psychologically because I was being accused of taking money I knew nothing about. The press also did not believe me so that dampened my morale,” the singer said..
