Today is exactly nine (9) years when I involved in a ghastly motor accident that confined me on wheelchair. I thank Allah ( SWA) for my life. life is all about living and God has a purpose for making me like dis. To me disability is just a mindset and I haved overcome my challenges in champion the plight of PWDs from the Civil Society Organisation CSOs perspective.
You are not disabled by the disabilities you have; you are able by the abilities you have.
Most of us have seen only one side of the picture – the proverbial half empty glass. It is not a mistake that we have not seen the half full glass. It is simply because we are programmed to look at the dark side only, the main culprit being our ‘belief system’. We are always wearing dark goggles and so everything is seen through them look dark. When we remove the goggles, we will see the actual picture in its true form.
Our belief system determines the kind of action we take and the actions we take determine the amount of potential we tap. This will affect the results we produce and thereby reinforcing our belief system. Beliefs are the single most important filter that we have to put information into our mind.
All of us have disabilities – physical and mental. Physical disability can be managed more easily when compared to mental disability with the right kind of belief. Many people with physical disabilities have shown great guts and gumption in overcoming their disabilities and achieving way beyond their known levels of potential.
There are a number of examples that I can roll out in each field of human endeavor who have reached exceptional heights and have proved us that physical disability is just a matter of our belief system – if you believe you can, you can. If you believe you can’t, you certainly can not.
No one is completely disabled. There are always some faculties left in tact and these are like blank cheques. We can en cash them as we want.
Always remember that what lies behind you & what lies in front of you is nothing when compared to what lies with in you.
"Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall”
The Key to Success Is Realizing The Door Isn't Locked...
You Just Do NOT Give Up.
