President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday dissolved the Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission.
Buhari also fired the Managing Director of the commission, Bassey Dan-Abia.
This development was contained in a statement from the Office of the Secretary to the Governor of the Federation.
To replace Dan-Abia in acting capacity is a former Commissioner of Information in Rivers State, Ibim Semenitari.
Semenitari served in the administration of former Governor Rotimi Amaechi, who is now the Minister of Transportation.

The statement said: “President Muhammadu Buhari has named Mrs. Ibim Semenitari the new Managing Director, Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC. However, Semenitari is to function in acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive MD.
“Semenitari, an award-winner journalist and media manager, had served in the Communications Directorate of the Buhari Presidential Campaign Organisation during the 2015 presidential election.”
Semenitari was also a member of the Buhari Campaign Organisation.
