From all indications and facts available to www.newspunch.org, Hon. Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, House of Representatives member representing Ogoja/Yala federal constituency may have forged degree certificate and the National Youths Service Corps exemption certificates presented to Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Cross River State during the 2014 Federal House of Representatives elections.
One of his major opponent, Amb. Akpang Ade Obi Odu of the Labour Party, who is currently battling him on the alleged certificates forgery at the Cross Rivers State Federal House of Representatives Election Tribunal has petitioned the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, through his lawyers to help intervene in securing academic details of Hon. Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe from the University of Calabar, which the complainants at first alleged that the University have been willing to release.
a)That the sponsorship form CF 002[i]of Mr Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe was not signed and he applied to obtain certified true copies of the same from the Independent National Electoral Commission to no avail and he secured the services of a photographer to take snapshots of the same. See annexure 1 the affidavit in support of personal particulars and sponsorship form of Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe.
b)That the said Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe alleged in the Affidavit in support of his personal particulars that he is a graduate of Chemistry wherein he graduated with B. Sc. [Hons.] Degree 2nd Class[Lower division] in 2003/2004 session after studying in the University of Calabar for about 10 years from 1995. When the maximum period any undergraduate can spend in the University for a four [4] year course is six [6] years. See a copy of the degree certificate allegedly forged by the said Mr. Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe as annexure 2.
c) That the same Mr. Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe also stated that he was granted an Exemption from compulsory national Youths Service Corps in 2009 five years after he allegedly graduated from the University of Calabar a fact which is most unlikely. See the Exemption certificate allegedly forged as Annexure 3.
d) That from the positive averments in Mr. Jarigbe’s Affidavit in support of Personal Particulars he perjured in the following manner by stating that he graduated with [Hons.] in Chemistry from the University of Calabar in 2004 after Ten years of study in the University of Calabar which is false, that he was exempted from compulsory national Services five years after he graduated when he ought to be mobilized and/or exempted immediately after graduation.”
Meanwhile, following the petition to the Inspector General Of Police, dated 1st of August 2015, the University of Calabar has eventually released the the academic details of Hon. Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe. From the details academic records of Jarigbe released by the versity dated August 12th 2015, it is clearly stated Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe was actully admitted to the institution in the year 1996/1996 academic session in the department of Chemistry, with the matriculation number 95/42251.
Th University of Calabar claimed that there was no result for Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe from his first year in the university, 1995/1996 academic year to 1998/1999 academic year he was supposed to have graduated. Infact, the varsity further stated that there is no result either in the year 2004, which Jarigbe Agom claimed to have obtained the result from the institution. The University, clearly stated that where Jarigb Agom Jarigbe obtained the result remain mysterious to them. For these reasons, the University of Calabar declared result presented by Jarigbe to the INEC as not authentic.
