Buhari,Tambuwal, Ambode mourn late Borno deputy governor

President Muhammadu Buhari, governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal and Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode mourn the death of Borno State deputy governor, Zannah Umar Mustapha.

President Muhammadu Buhari has led top dignitaries that include the governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal and Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode to mourn the death of Borno State deputy governor, Zannah Umar Mustapha.

Buhari on Saturday in Abuja expressed shock and sadness over the death of the Deputy Governor in a condolence message issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina.

He said that the deputy governor's death was a huge loss to the state and the nation, and prayed Allah to grant his soul eternal rest.

President Buhari urged Gov. Kashim Shettima, the deceased's family and the entire people of Borno to bear the loss with fortitude.

In furtherance, Gov. Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State also expressed shock over the death of the Deputy Governor of Borno, Alhaji Zannah Umar Mustapha.
In a statement issued in Sokoto his spokesman, Malam Imam Imam on Saturday in Sokoto, Tambuwal described the deceased as a committed democrat who worked hard to ensure the return of peace to his state and the North-East.
Tambuwaal said that Borno Gov. Kashim Shettima has lost a trusted ally and a refined human being who never shied away from giving his best to the people.
He condoled with the government and people of Borno, praying the Almighty Allah to grant the deceased eternal rest and give his family the fortitude to bear the loss.

In the same vein, Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State on Saturday expressed deep pain over the passage of the Deputy Governor of Borno, Alhaji Zannah Umar Mustapha, describing it as `` a tragic loss''.
This is contained in a condolence message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Habib Aruna.
Ambode said that he shared in the sorrow of his brother Governor, Alhaji Kashim Shettima, over the sad event.
He said that the late Mustapha was a loyal, diligent and dedicated Deputy Governor.
''As a brother Governor, I feel completely overwhelmed just imagining the depth of your pain and anguish at the death of a most loyal, dependable and diligent deputy, which you had in Alhaji Mustapha, '' he said.
Ambode prayed the the Almighty God would grant the soul of the departed Deputy Governor peaceful repose.
''On behalf of the Government and people of Lagos State, l pray that God abides with his family, the government, members of the All Progressives Congress, Nigeria and the people of Borno State at this difficult time, '' he said.
The Borno Government had announced that Mustapha died in his sleep on Saturday morning in Yola, where he was to represent the state government at the convocation ceremony of Modibbo Adama University of Science and Technology.
