A man who trekked from Lagos to Abuja to celebrate Buhari’s win,Sulieman Hashimu shared his story on how the journey went with journalists.
According to him, Suleiman said before he embarked on the journey, he met with the police to get police report from them in order to embark on the journey without any hassle.
Hashimu said he could wait for the processes to be completed, the divisional police officer (D.P.O) gave him his phone number to call him when he have any problem.
According to Daily Post, Hashimu said his family and friends discouraged him from embarking on the journey but he never gave up.
Suleiman said that in Ilorin, people accompanied him for several miles until he stopped at Oloru, where he recieved much hospitality in Jebba. He also said unlike other villages, where he met people who had heard of him.
Hashimu said that about 20 people who set off with him from Jebba and after some miles, 18 turned back, but the other two were more strong minded and followed him.
The ‘Johnny Walker’ explained how they encountered armed robbers close to Mokwa, but fortunately for them, he had already met one of them in Jebba and the robber ended up giving him N200 for pure water.
Hashimu said he continued his trip from Mokwa to Kudu, then from Kutigi to Bida, and then to Suleja, after which he arrived in Abuja, yesterday, April 20, 2015.
