Actress Ovo Gabriel has said that it is a commonplace to see producers asking women for sex before giving them a role in movies, adding that sex-for-job cuts across all industries.
The fast rising actress told The Sun that she has experienced occasions when she was pestered by producers for sexual favour before she could get a role.
When asked if she had been asked to trade sex for a role in any movie, she said, “Haba, that one na everywhere o. It is not only a Nollywood thing. It is in every sphere of our lives. Some guys even see it as their birthright to demand for sex for any little favour to be granted a lady. Sex is now a trade by batter instrument; may God help women.”
The Delta State-born actress said her most embarrassing moment as an actress was her encounter with a male fan on the internet.
She said, “My most embarrassing moment would be when a fan uploaded his nude pictures into my inbox trying so hard to seduce me on facebook and sexually harassing me continually that I had to block him.”
