The town, it was gathered, was recaptured following the effort of Joint Civilian JTF and hunters drawn from across the state, who also seized six Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) earlier taken away by the insurgents.
The insurgents had for the past four months been launching onslaughts on the Adamawa North Senatorial District, comprising of five local government of Madagali, MIchika, Mubi North Mubi South and Maiha, and displaced thousands of residents.
The hunter said flags of Boko Haram earlier hoisted were uprooted and replaced with the Nigerian flag by the military personnel, including the one hoisted at the palace of the Emir of Mubi.
Sources at the palace indicated that the palace which before yesterday was converted to the spiritual headquarters of the insurgents was taken over by the joint team.
The hunter added that sequel to the development, the Boko Haram beat a retreat into the bush as hunters killed many of them.
