A branch of M&S has been left with a gaping hole in its front after an audacious gang of robbers
used a digger to smash their way in and steal a cash machine.
METRO UK –
The thieves left a trail of destruction after carrying out the robbery on Marks & Spencer in Malvern, Worcestershire, where they made off with a cash machine.
And the front of the store has now been left with an enormous 10ft hole in the front after the robbers rammed it in the stolen excavator and then used the digger’s mechanical arms to rip the ATM from the wall.
‘When we got here this morning police were everywhere,’ said an employee at a nearby Argos store.
‘It takes some audacity to smash your way into a massive store like that and steal a cash machine.
‘It’s like something from a Hollywood movie.’
West Mercia Police, who have closed off the store to the public while they investigate the theft, said the crew transferred the ATM to a second vehicle, which they used to make their getaway at about 2am this morning.
Residents of the small market town were surprised to learn of the robbery.
‘This is a nice quiet rural town and nothing like this happens here, we are all very shocked,’ said Tina Katorro, 33.
‘I come to the cafe each day for a nice muffin and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I arrived and saw a huge hole in the wall,’ added M&S customer Ian Yates, 77.....METRO UK –
