Bike Man Stabs Passenger to Death Over 50 Naira Change in Lagos!

Homicide detectives at Meiran Police Station, Lagos State have arrested a commercial bike rider for stabbing his passenger to death over N50 dispute.
Eyewitnesses said that the commercial bike rider, Tansun Usman, from Katsina State, picked his passenger from Meiran area, heading to NEPA junction.
Usman however forgot to tell his passenger, a Yoruba man, that he did not have change for any other denomination aside from N50.
When the passenger got to NEPA junction, he got down and gave Usman N500.
Usman got angry and riled against his passenger, insisting that he did not have change for N500.
The passenger retorted that Usman did not tell him before he mounted his motorbike that he did not have change.
Usman angrily collected the N500 and flagged down several other motorbikes, but all insisted that they did not have N500 change.
Usman’s passenger than asked for N500 and immediately Usman handed the money to the man, he started walking away.
The motorbike rider caught up with him, held him and demanded that he should pay for his fare.
A police source said: “As the Okada rider held the passenger, they started arguing and shouting. Suddenly the passenger slapped Usman. Usman brought out a dagger, which he apparently had on him, and stabbed his passenger on the right hand side of his stomach. Sympathizers rushed the man to the hospital, but he died the following day, which was Saturday.”
It was further gathered that policemen from Meiran Police Station arrested Usman.
Confirming the incident, police spokesperson in Lagos State, Ngozi Braide, said: “The Okada rider is 20 years and the passenger is also 20 years old.
“The cyclist picked the passenger from Abule-Egba, heading to Meiran.
“They agreed on N100.
“When they reached Meiran, the passenger gave Usman N500, but Usman said he did not have change.
“The passenger asked him to look for change, but he insisted he didn’t have.
“The passenger asked him if he would collect N50, but Usman refused.
“That was how he brought out a dagger and stabbed his passenger.
“He was rushed to hospital, but died 30 minutes later.
“Usman later confessed that sometime last year, his motorbike was stolen.
“He had later travelled to his state for charm and the dagger was part of what was given to him.
“It was a poisonous dagger.
“Immediately he stabbed the man, the man didn’t last.
“The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department for further investigation.
